The President and Board of Directors are delighted to invite members to attend the Association’s Annual Congress at the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre.
A voting form for the IDTA President Elect 2013-2014 is enclosed with the May 2013 issue of Dance International along with details of the members standing for the office.All full members may vote in this election. Please mark clearly your selection and return the form to the Association’s Auditors, Hilton, Sharp & Clarke by 3 June 2013. The result will be announced at the AGM on 9 July 2013. The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation ran it’s very own version of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing event for the past two years and the event has developed and improved annually. In 2012, the event, hosted by Celebrity Big Brother’s Tricia Penrose, took place in the magnificent surroundings of St George’s Hall and welcomed 9 competing couples and over 420 social dancers.

Dance teachers are required to comply with copyright legislation as a result of using recorded and live music in their dance classes. The IDTA wants to support its members and is working with the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET) and PRS for Music to address and simplify the process of music licensing for those using recorded music in the teaching of dance.
