ProDub Licence
The PPL and MCPS are now offering a joint licence that enables DJs, fitness instructors and other professionals to copy and store music digitally for use in their professional activities.
The ProDub licence is being administered by MCPS on behalf of itself and the PPL. For details please visit www.produb.co.uk
Please note that even where music is being played in public by a DJ, fitness instructor or other professional holding a ProDub licence, a separate licence will still be needed for that public performance (as the ProDub licence only covers copying and storage).

Performing Rights Society - PRS for Music
The IDTA is keen to share the following statement from the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET),
"Dance teachers nationwide will be pleased to learn that the CDET and PRS for Music have convened a joint working group to address and simplify the process of music licensing for those using recorded music in the teaching of dance. Concerns had been shared with PRS for Music that licensing for this specific field was confusing and needed to be adapted to meet the needs of today's dance teachers."
The working group comprising representatives of PRS for Music, CDET's validated Awarding Organisations and accredited vocational schools is due to report shortly with all teachers via the IDTA and CDET websites.
IDTA members should also see the members’ section of the IDTA website for further information.
