Performing Rights Society – PRS for music

The IDTA is keen to share the following statement from the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET),

“Dance teachers nationwide will be pleased to learn that the CDET and PRS for Music have convened a joint working group to address and simplify the process of music licensing for those using recorded music in the teaching of dance. Concerns had been shared with PRS for Music that licensing for this specific field was confusing and needed to be adapted to meet the needs of today’s dance teachers.”

The working group comprising representatives of PRS for Music, CDET’s validated Awarding Organisations and accredited vocational schools is due to report shortly with all teachers via the IDTA and CDET websites.

IDTA members should also see the members’ section of the IDTA website for further information.
