COVID-19 Announcement – 27th November 2021

Following the UK Prime Minister’s announcement at the weekend (27th November 2021) regarding Covid-19 and the reintroduction of masks in shops and on public transport in England, we would ask members to carefully consider their dance school/venues risk assessment for classes and examinations. With Covid-19 still circulating and high numbers of infections it is important to consider and review your covid-19 policy and risk assessment.

PM opening statement at COVID-19 press conference: 27 November 2021 – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

We are aware of the impact of the virus on dance classes and exams, with some candidates needing to isolate at short notice and the consequent effect on your school. If you have an examination session booked in the next few weeks, please keep in touch with your appointed examiner, in case your examination session is affected.

Please continue to provide your examiner with a risk assessment and policies in place to minimise the spread of the virus, including any requirement to wear a mask when moving around the venue, good hygiene and ventilation.

Please continue to place all the report forms on the desk for the examiner, rather than candidates presenting their reports to the examiner and ask the candidates to remain at least 2m away from the examiner’s desk. Please check with the examiner if they will be bringing their own refreshments with them, as they may prefer to do so.

If anyone is unwell and presents with covid-19 symptoms they must follow the NHS guidance.

We would ask our members in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales to continue to check guidance and regulations in their country and our international members to work to the guidance and regulations in place in their countries.
