The International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA) Board of Directors have after much deliberation decided, in the best interest of the majority of their members, to withdraw, with immediate effect, from being a shareholder in Celebration of Dance Festival Limited.
The IDTA Board of Directors wish the Partners well with the future of the Dance Proms and all four original partner organisations trust this decision will not compromise in anyway the excellent relationship which has developed between IDTA, RAD, ISTD and the RAH.
Since the first ever Dance Proms involved 450 young people performing in front of an audience of 3,000 the evening has been a huge success with performers and audience alike. Six years on, and the event now being international, the partners feel that through the 2017 performance and beyond there needs to be a directional change to the event, which has grown in success over the years, but never the less involves a major commitment of resource, time and finance of each organisation.
