Our people

After graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Economics in 1989, Elizabeth moved to Brighton starting her career with Lombard North Central and BT plc before joining the IDTA in October 1993.

Over the years, Liz's role at the IDTA had changed with key areas being the Association's two annual national conferences, examiner appointment and training, the Dance International magazine and publications and supporting the Board of Directors and sub-committees. With the Association's recognition by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and the CCEA in 2011, Liz took on the role of Quality Assurance Manager, working closely with the IDTA's regulatory consultant, Rachael Meech.

Liz was appointed as the IDTA’s Chief Executive by the Board of Directors with effect from 1^st June 2017.

David has a long association with IDTA. All the bespoke software that Head Office use has been designed and programmed by David, playing an essential part in the efficiency and effectiveness that IDTA Head Office is renowned for.

David keeps astride of the continually advancing world of information technology and advises IDTA on adopting the best technology where appropriate and cost effective. 

Outside work, David is a keen caver and potholer, exploring the subterranean world. Amazingly, more people have been to the Moon than many of the stunningly beautiful places he has visited.

Gavin provides day to day IT support for the IDTA head office computer systems and is involved in the development of the IT infrastructure needed to support the growing demands of the organisation.

He is also responsible for maintenance of the IDTA website, the School Profile directory listing service and all official Social Media channels of the IDTA.

Applications for examination sessions / allocation of examiners / issuing of report forms / professional reports / advice and guidance on examination booking procedures

Provides IDTA publications in the form of syllabi and technique books, set music CDs and DVDs, plus a variety of additional items for IDTA teachers and dancers. Orders are processed at IDTA Head Office and can be made by phone, online, post or fax.
