Vanessa Hooper

Vanessa trained at the Royal Ballet School and danced principal roles with the Royal Ballet and Northern Ballet Companies. She has performed in several musicals in London and taught professional ballet classes at Pineapple Dance Studios. She has choreographed and directed for the stage and television in London and Europe including Starlight Express with Arlene Phillips. She has successfully run a dancing school for over 30 years and has trained dancers in the Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, The Mariinsky Ballet & Matthew Bourne’s Company. Her pupils are performing in West End and touring musical productions, cruise ships and companies around the world. She has coached dancers for the Prix de Lausanne and YAGP and has had winners at Adeline Genée, Molly Lake and Young British Dancer of the Year.

Vanessa has been awarded the Carl Alan Teachers’ Award and is a member of the IDTA Board of Directors. She is extremely proud to have played a major part in compiling the current IDTA Ballet syllabi from Preparatory to Advanced 2 and is currently chairman of the Ballet Faculty.
