
Jill Kemp
Jill’s passion for dance began as a child in the East End of London. Having taken many IDTA exams in the Ballroom subjects, Jill qualified in 1977 just in time for the Saturday Night Fever stampede!
In 1980 Jill realised her dream and opened her dance centre in Milton Keynes where thousands have taken IDTA awards in a wide variety of subjects. Jill has trained many Freestyle and Ballroom branch professionals, including Bill Tasker, John Dilworth and John Knight Scholarship recipients. She was appointed an Examiner in 1999 and has examined, coached, adjudicated and lectured extensively both in the UK and Worldwide
Jill has an MA in Leadership and Management and has mentored dance teachers in business development. Jill also created degree modules and lectures on dance and performance focused courses.
Notable highlights of Jill’s career include receiving the ADFP Area and Professional awards, Carl Alan awards in 2007 and 2014 and the MK Sport Unsung Hero award for dance in the community.
Jill is proud to be a Life Member of the IDTA and serves on both the Latin and Freestyle Faculty of which she is currently Chairman. Jill was honoured to be appointed a Director in 2024 providing the opportunity to work towards a promising and exciting future for the Association that she loves.
