Sport & Recreation Alliance Survey

A message from the Sport and Recreation Alliance:

Dear teaching colleagues,

I hope that this email finds you and friends and loved ones safe and well.

With the loss of their usual class or gym session it seems that everyone is now fully appreciating the benefits of having good quality physical activity on their doorsteps. Exams and competitions have been cancelled, training courses and Easter Schools are being postponed. As they say, you do not know what you’ve got until it’s gone.

I have, with Tobias at the Sport and Recreation Alliance, created a survey for the Movement and Dance teachers about the situation we currently find ourselves in and the impact the closure of classes is having on our teachers and their classes.

It seems to me that everyone is thinking about how organisations are coping, but self-employed teachers are not organisations. As a teacher, I have created a survey that I would be happy to answer, asking important questions but not prying too deeply into personal matters. These things need to be asked so that we, as a Division, and the Sport and Recreation Alliance, can explain the impact that social distancing and the closure of classes has had on us, our dancers and members.

I hope that you will be able to help us by completing this by the end of April. The survey will close on April 30th after which it will be analysed and the results used by us, and the Sport and Recreation Alliance in their policy work.

The survey should take only a few minutes, maybe a bit longer if you want to give more detailed answers.

Thank you for your help and support. In difficult times we must all work together for the greater good.
